Finish warranty: what it should cover and what to do if something fails after handover
What a finishing warranty should include in writing, and the steps to follow if something fails after you move in.

What should a finishing warranty cover?
Installation defects (flooring that lifts, tile that comes loose, leaks in wet areas from poor waterproofing) and failures in custom-built pieces like a fitted kitchen or closets. A serious warranty is put in writing before construction starts — not promised verbally at the end.
How long should the warranty last?
One year is the reasonable minimum for residential finishes — enough time for installation issues to surface that aren't always visible at handover. Architect Yainis Ávila provides a written warranty of at least one year on every project, without exception.
What should you do if something fails after handover?
Report it in writing (photo and description of the issue) as soon as you notice it — the sooner it's reported, the easier it is to diagnose the cause. With architect Yainis Ávila, this report is filed directly through the backoffice Client Zone, with the case tracked until it's resolved.
What does a finishing warranty typically NOT cover?
Normal wear from use, damage caused by misuse or by third parties after handover, and modifications made by another contractor after the project is finished. That's why the warranty's scope needs to be clear and in writing from the initial contract — see what other clauses your finishing contract shouldn't be missing.
How does the whole process work with architect Yainis Ávila?
It all starts with the online quote simulator: in minutes you get a price range and an estimated timeline in weeks, with no site visit needed. If you decide to move forward, a diagnostic visit gets scheduled and, if the project calls for it, the complete project study (detailed budget, updated floor plans, 3D modeling, and photorealistic renders).
Before any construction starts, everything is put in writing: a fixed price, a timeline in weeks, and a minimum one-year warranty. During execution, you follow real progress through the Client Zone, with no need to be on-site every day.
